The Rock It Up! Music Fun School believes that learning should be fun!

It is important to us to know that our students are being properly trained and leaving their lesson with a smile on their face waiting for next week's session.

Our instructors are highly qualified individuals who are actively working in the music industry, and have been teaching for many years.

We want you to learn and have a great time doing it ! Rock It Up! has students of all ages coming from as far as the Niagara Region.

Darren Flower

Darren has been involved in music for over 20 years. He has been performing since the tender age of 8, and has been writing songs since 12.

After putting in countless hours into his craft he co-founded the Powerblooze Rock band Stone River. Stone River has played a lot of shows across Ontario, been in the best studios with the best producers, and caught the attention of many music industry personnel. In 2006 Stone River recorded their critically acclaimed debut "In the Valley of the Butterflies". The song "Southern Feeling" received a fair amount of radio play on 97.7 htz fm, 107.9, 94.5 the Bull, KROCK,and K106 in Ontario. They also had a European Distribution Deal with E1 Entertainment. Their album charted in Germany and Belgium.

In 2008 they beat out almost 400 bands to open up for their heroes the Black Crowes in front of over 10000 people. Stone River travelled to Cannes, France in January 2012 for the MIDEM Festival and Hamburg, Germany at the Reeperbahn Festival in September 2012 to play and impress music industry personnel. Stone River is endorsed by Gibson Guitars.

Darren has been teaching for over 8 years and has even taught guitar at the University of Toronto Mississauga campus and recently founded Rock It Up! in 2011.

Darren Flower & Matt Roberts are now DJ’s for Rock It Up! Radio on CFRE (University of Toronto, Mississauga Campus). The show can be heard online on Saturdays at 1pm - 3pm on www.cfreradio.com.

Further, Darren won an award from CFRE for "Best Variety Show of 2011" and interviewed countless amount of bands including Grammy-Award Winners the Kentucky Headhunters, platinum-selling artists Blind Melon, Canadian Heavyweights Big Wreck, a former member of Pearl Jam, Kirk Windstein (lead singer from the heavy metal band Crowbar), and legendary producer Nick Blagona (who produced Deep Purple, the Bee Gees, the Police, Alexisonfire, the Tea Party).

Darren has also won an award for best variety show for CFRE for 2012. Darren also put on a Charity Show in 2013 to raise money for the Women's Shelter Interim Place. Rock It Up! now has a tv show that will be aired on Rogers TV Peel Region (Mississauga/Brampton).

Further, Darren also won a Lifetime Achievement Award from CFRE Radio for his show, and in 2015 he became a juror for the Foundation Assisting Canadian Talent on Recordings (FACTOR).

Justin Bennett

Justin Bennett is a musician and co-host/sidekick at Rock It Up! Radio on CFRE.

He was born and raised in Mississauga, Ontario and graduated from Cawthra Park S.S. completing the Advanced Guitar and Electronic Music courses.

He co-founded the progressive rock band Kong and is currently playing in an acoustic duo called Easy Rolling.

He is an encyclopedia of rock music, especially from 1965-1980 and is an avid record collector.

Justin brings his unique musical tastes and knowledge to Rock It Up! Radio every Saturday on CFRE.

John Santiago

John Santiago is a videographer who is truly passionate about his work.

He has always been interested in video at an early age and knew that he would work in the entertainment industry.

John has filmed many weddings and recently been hired to be a videographer for Rock It Up! Over the years he has gained a lot of experience and it shows in his work.

He doesn't believe in "cookie-cutter" filming and editing. He believes that every project is unique and demands the very best creative outlook that it deserves.
